How do you wake up every morning? Chaotic, stressed, and frazzled?
Try these 5 life hacks that I swear by for a stress-free morning!
1. Have a designated area for your essentials:
How many times have you wasted precious time in the morning looking for your keys, wallet, or phone?
Try placing a basket at the front of your home for all of your daily essentials. When you arrive home at the end of the day, place all of your necessities into the basket so that you don’t forget anything during those stressful mornings.
This is particularly helpful if you’re constantly changing purses or if you are transitioning into the weekend.
You can also assign each essential item a number. When you leave the house every morning, start counting down to make sure you don’t forget anything.
2. Shower in the evening/use dry shampoo:
If you are able, showering in the evening will save you a lot of unnecessary stress in the morning when you’re trying to get out the door. Imagine all of the time you will save if the only thing you have to do is style your hair (or tie it up). Bonus: less heat damage on your hair by skipping the blow dryer!
Dry Shampoo is also a life-saver on those days you can’t take a shower the night before. My personal favorite is the Batiste brand for Dark Hair. It takes away the grease and provides your hair with much-needed volume.
3. Invest in a programmable coffee-maker/choose a quick breakfast option:
Waking up to a fresh pot of brewed coffee in the morning is an instant pick-me-up. It’s hard to beat the smell of coffee when your alarm goes off. By setting up your coffee maker the night before, you won’t have to worry about how you’ll be getting your caffeine fix in the morning saving you both time and money.
You might also want to think about some quick breakfast options you can have on hand such as protein bars or frozen breakfast burritos that you can eat on the go on your morning commute. Instant single-serve Oatmeal is also a good option to eat at your desk when you arrive at the office.
Having a few go-to breakfast options will save you time, money, and stress every morning!
4. Shorten your daily makeup routine:

Simplifying my makeup routine down to the essentials has really helped me to get out the door faster each morning and makes getting ready so much easier. Find high quality products that work for you and create a routine that is simple enough that it only takes you 5-10 minutes to get ready while also making you feel confident and put together.
Most days you can get away with a little powder, concealer, and mascara and still look like you didn’t just roll out of bed.
5. Create a 30 minute daily playlist:
One of the biggest challenges of getting out of the house on time is keeping your eye on clock and making sure that you’re on track to leave as planned.
Try upgrading your morning routine by creating a 30 minute playlist that you get ready to on a daily basis. This will help you to manage the time it takes to complete each task and will let you know how much time you have left based on what track you’re on.
Bonus: listening to your favorite songs will help you to wake up in a better mood!
